Another One From Basin City!

Buenas tardes!

Okay, here's a story:
We went to a middle of nowhere trailer park, and knocked on a door that didn't answer, then taught a different friend, and left. After driving away 10 minutes, we get a call from our friend Tomas, saying that he saw us, and wanted us to stop by. We went back, and he said he'd had a rough week, but knew that talking to us for 5 minutes would lift his spirit. So we said a prayer, and something I said reminded him of a bizarre story from a few years ago that i can't go into detail on. After that story though, we shared about life after death, and he was very grateful we came by.

Our friend Oscar is our most progressing friend right now. We crossed paths while he was walking to the gas station, shared a scripture, and asked to meet again. He has listened super well, asks great questions, and follows through on invitations we extend! I didn't know that people did that! We learned that he's been taught previously by missionaries, so he has a good foundation of what we're teaching. He's awesome! He likes to draw, and is a fantastic cook.

Oh man, i love getting to know people so much. That's been kind of tough to do with people on the street, given that I'm a complete stranger to them. But recently, we've been visiting a lot of the members, sharing messages, and I learn a lot about them. They're so kindly, and the moment we get talking, my heart just swells with love for them. I find that a lot of the families we visit leave me grinning ear to ear, with an increased vigor to go share the gospel!
We cry with those that cry, comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and lose ourselves in the work. More rewarding than anything on this planet to me is learning about who other people are. Sometimes  days are rough, but talking with a friendly person does not fail to bring my spirits up.

Easter is coming up! What a wonderful time to celebrate Jesus Christ! He suffered every pain you will ever feel, including death. After 3 days, he arose again to life. He lives! Because he lives, death has no sting. Each one of us will live again too. Because of him, we can have joy. If you aren't already, i recommend reading through the New testament (And the Book of Mormon, too) to learn more about jesus christ, and i promise you'll feel a greater love through it.

Until la proxima,

Élder Duncan

My red truck made it to washington?? (Not really). This is the same model and color of car that i drove back home. Our friend Pascual said i could take a photo in front of it, that was epic.

I drew a map of mexico, so that i could visualize better where our friends are from. This has helped a ton!
