Sunglasses, Water, And A Phone Call
Hello family, Hello friends!
Some goofy things happened this week. Here's one:
Before realizing he wasn't there, we pulled up to the house of our friend angel. We parked and called the number he gave us. The person who answered said they didn't know angel, but Elder Jacobs started up a conversation with them about what we do. A couple people were pulling out of this house giving us weird looks as they passed. We're fairly deep into the call when someone pulls up next to us. Elder Jacobs handed the phone to Elder Day, to talk to this person, and dropped his glasses as he was opening the door.
At this point two conversations are going on.
Then Elder Day spills his water while on the call. When Elder Jacobs finishes talking, he starts looking for the pieces of his broken glasses. Elder Day hands the phone back to clean up the water, so they're both hunched trying to clean up or get glasses all while we're still on this call. Then the person on the call brings his friend in to ask questions. It's all chaos.
The phone call ends with elder Day's feet in water, Elder jacob's glasses broken, and the phone call people praying to bless the missionaries. We're pretty sure they were a member messing with us.
It was all wonderfully chaotic, and we got a good laugh out of it afterwards. I hope that block of text made sense, I didn't take much time to organize those thoughts.
This week we've got a lot of people to be teaching, so that will be our focus. (As opposed to just going out to find people to teach)
I'd like to stress the importance of keeping a journal. Every day of your life, lots of things happen. Every week, you forget lots of those things, lessons learned, and times you saw proof that God exists. If you take a few minutes each day to briefly write what happened that day, it'll be captured for a whole lot longer. For me, writing is also one of the best ways I think. When I'm feeling blue, or red, or yellow, if I write it down I almost always feel better.
I'm told that also writing down what you're grateful for each day makes you happier. I have only done it a couple times, but it was true when I did it. That also helps us see how much God has truly blessed us with.
Until next time,
Élder Duncan
Playing pool with our friends, and then we shared a message after losing! Luckily I have some previous practice though, and I sank quite a few holes.
Trailer parks! These are my favorite areas, because of all the spanish!
The one gas station for many kilometers in any direction
