Otro Día, Otro P-Day

Hellooooooo!!

I think you'll find pleasing these good things to report from Basin City:

Our friend JJ came to church before we'd even taught him a lesson. We met him while we were walking in Mesa (mee-suh). We pulled over the car to talk to his brother, then he came out and shook his finger at us for driving a car that some gang members he knew also drove. Then the next couple days, he was working on cleaning up the only store in town, which was recently burned down, and we kept saying hi and inviting him to church. He's wanted to change his life, so he came to church! We're going to teach him on Thursday.

Out here there is a lot of farming, and a lot of people to work the farms. We pulled up to some farm labor housing where some guys were playing volleyball. Ricardo, Alejandro, and Luis let us join for a couple games, and we lost horribly. But afterwards, we got to talk to them about the gospel, and Luis told me about how he got there.

We gave a Bible to our friend Virginia. Her husband was there too, and we were able to teach the both of them how to pray! This has become one of my favorite things to teach. Prayer is something so simple, but so powerful. To be able to literally talk to God. If you know how to do that, they doors to the fulness of the gospel open up.

Joseph Smith had a question, so he went and prayed about it, and he found his answer. So too can you, no matter what your question is.

Here's a great scripture we've shared:

"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it." Mosiah 2:41

It is true. Those who keep God's commandments will and do find greater happiness. God wants us to be happy, so he gave us instructions!

Bendiciones,
