Transfers! ("Such Wow")
Buenas a todos!
This week was good, and I learned quite a bit. I apologize that this email is a little scattered. I'm out of time and creative energy.
It started off with a kick to the head. Not a real kick, that's just a metaphor. But if metaphors could hurt, that's what it felt like.
This is because we had a lesson that went very poorly. We went in with almost no plan, and our friend(I'll call her Jill) basically talked the whole time. After ending with a prayer, the member we brought pulled us aside and said that if Jill would learn anything, we needed to be more bold, and have a solid plan. Let the spirit guide, but we also had to be putting in that effort.
After some to think, we put into effect some standards to help our lessons moving forward. And we saw improvements just a couple days ago in a lesson.
That was rough to hear though.
Like a muscle, the growth occurs only after we are broken a bit, and then have protein... I mean make a change.
Transfers
I will be plain honest. Before today, I would read other missionaries' emails talking about transfers, and it really didn't mean much to me. But now, Elder Keller is being replaced by Elder Hill, and I can finally appreciate the significance of transfers. I get to lead the area for a while! I'm about to struggle, but I'm so ready to grow! It feels like the day I left to mexico, just a little less profound.
Knocked a door, and Kevin answered, holding a tenor saxophone! I just about passed out. We have a lesson this week, hopefully and can reign in my excitement.
Watched the cops take someone away in handcuffs from the apartment building behind us. Then we went back to studying.
Went to a branch party for el Día de los Reyes. Lots of people showed up! Huge win.
Spiritual thought:
Prayer works! I've never prayed so much, or so often, but I'm seeing it bear fruit. God really is there, and whatever you ask, honestly and fervently, if it is good, He wants to bless you with it.
3 Nephi 18:20
"And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you."

P.S. thanks for all the emails! Every single one makes my day!
Last full day with everyone in this apartment. I'm going to miss them.
I got caught unaware
