The One With The Nose Bleeds

Buena semana!

This week I don't want to write a whole lot, so, I'll pick the best just for you.

The beginning of the week, I was super stressed about finding someone to come to a lesson with us, and that was kind of bumming out the whole day. Then the lesson came, didn't happen, and went. Suddenly everything I was worried about melted away. Such is life. One obstacle comes, seems like the epitome of our struggles, then it passes and we work towards the next obstacle.

We were having a lesson with our amazing friend Gerardo and Steve, a member, and then halfway through, Elder Hill's nose started to bleed! Frantically, I tried getting him tissues out of my bag fast enough, but he was already out of the room. I was left there trying to continue the lesson with Gerardo and Steve, the member we'd brought. I later learned that I was supposed to follow my comp out. Otherwise it was a good lesson. We're hoping to be able to help Gerardo work through some stuff, and then he can be baptized. He's amazing, please pray for him!

The thought that has stuck in my mind this week:
In a BYU devotional Elder Holland said to some effect 'The best time to fix a leaky roof is when it's sunny out'
Meaning that when the storms are about, that is not the most effective time to be getting ready for a storm. I'm still thinking on where this best applies, but it's been a thought about my mind. It reminds me of helaman 5:12, which

"that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Awkward sibling hug (Pat-pat),

We quite enjoy the library.
Imagine a Great Dane mixed with a Mastiff. You get this. A Daniff. So adorable!
I understand that this looks not appetizing at all, and pictures of food are lame, but I was very proud of being able to make this meal. In contrast with 10 weeks ago, my food making abilities are growing! (I also needed to make up for my lack of good pictured this week)

Chupacabra, chupacabra, ("what just jumped the wire?") Chupacabra, chupacabra, ("I'm starting to perspire")
"Nobody ever tried to catch it with a bully on a string."
