El CCM En Casa, En Linea
Hola a todos!
One week down! And down it is. I can confirm that it's true; the first few days online are fun and exciting, but then they just start to drag on. I can't wait to go to mexico! Otherwise, I've really appreciated this week. My district of 6 has been pretty amazing. Got some fellow representation from Utah, then from california, and Illinois! The district was 7 but the second day an Hermana had to delay for medical reasons, but she's doing okay now!
Correction: Now my district has 5 and we're at risk of being dissolved and sorted into other districts, because another hermana had to go. This could potentially mean I get put with Elder Gabbitas though!
Quite a unique experience, I think, is having Elder Gabbitas also going through MTC at the same time! Both of us from quaint little Springville, Utah, with the same schedule, attending the Mexico CCM at the same time. Combined with my district it's helped make the 600 person zoom workshops feel a little less daunting and a bit more like just a class of friends.
This week I've seen more personal spiritual growth than ever, surpassing even FSY. It feels like I've had almost a constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, and an even greater connection to Jesus Christ. My testimony of Him and His great work is building already.
Family time has taken a priority this week too, but my chores may or may not have been getting done... On Thursday we took a very spicy family dinner trip to Dave's hot chicken (Thanks to Elder Johnson for introducing it). Normally people who go may gander for the Medium or even Hot spice levels. My dad -my inspiration for craziness- went for the Reaper spice level, which is after extra hot and Extra Extra hot. Once we'd all finish our tenders, those of us brave enough took a bite of this Surface-of-the-sun-chicken. Many tears were shed, and bowels were very disrupted. 10/10 experience, I do recommend it.
Also with the family was the BYU Women's volleyball game. During this game there was a 'Flex Cam'. Simple rules: show the crowd your muscles, and the best wins a prize. After a second, I stood up, and moments later the crowd went nuts (I think). I won the sponsored goodie bag, and even got to shake Cosmo's hand!
A special thank you to everyone who attended my farewell, whether in person or from a distance. I really appreciate and love all of you so much!
I'd like to share again the scriptures from my farewell talk. They're some of my favorites! They show that we're all human, and that you're not alone in anything.
"O wretched [man/woman] that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of my iniquities." ... "Nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted. My God hath been my support." 2 Nephi 4 17-21
